Merry Christmas

A sliver of light lined the unfamiliar window as I shivered then broke into a cold sweat, wandering between wake and sleep.

Last night, at the La Quinta, somewhere in Alabama,  I dreamt the world ended.

I will spare you all the eery details, but one.

It was dark. I was photographing a wedding and the sky started to turn gray. All the guests at the wedding explained the impending darkness as some kind of eclipse. But as the gray turned to black their blase attitude shifted to terror.
I think I woke up just as I realized my flash could not penetrate this unbelievable darkness.

Then, when we arrived in Florida, my dad greeted me with, "So glad you're here, Julee, I dreamt you were killed in a car accident."

I could not jar these two dreams from my mind all evening, and if I'm honest... I don't want to forget them as I turn the corner on another year. They are both realities which I hope to keep at the forefront of my heart, mind and soul today and everyday ...

How do you like that for the start of my Christmas newsletter? OK, this is more of a sermon than a recap of our year ... I'll let the pictures and music tell more of that story set to premiere on 1.1.19.

The world is going to end, and I may die today, but my hope is in the Lord, for this life and the next.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12 ~ The New Living Translation.
